A 12-second vertical teaser, not a changelog
At 15:34 GMT on 4 September 2026, @suno posted “Soon enough, you’ll hear it all.” The clip is ~12.2 seconds, 1080×1920. It does not name a model, a date, or a feature list.
The only name in writing: “the v6 family”
Twenty-seven minutes later, official @suno replied: “lots more coming — the v6 family is our best work yet and we're excited for people to get their hands on it.” That is the first public use of “v6 family.” It is still not a ship date.
v5.5 remains the live named model
Suno v5.5 shipped on 26 March 2026 with Voices, Custom models and My Taste. Until a v6 row appears in Create, that is the model you can actually generate on.
What the teaser did not ship
Waiting for a named family is not the same as having a new generator. These gaps are load-bearing — do not fill them in from rumor.
No date, no picker, no docs
There is no public changelog, no Create-menu row, and no “v6 is live” post. If a third-party thread lists stems, latency, or a week, it is not citing Suno.
Industry models are a separate, still-upcoming thread
On 12 August 2026 Suno called its BMG deal “part of our upcoming launch of our first music model developed with the music industry.” That sentence does not say the model is named v6. Do not collapse the two announcements.
A new model does not export a vertical master
Even when v6 is selectable, a song is still an audio file. Shorts, Reels and TikTok still want a picture, captions locked to the beat, and a 9:16 crop. That job does not wait on a teaser.
What to do with the song you can make today
